Union Council Union Council Service Terms
1. General Terms
Union Council Union Council provides all services subject to the following general terms and conditions.
- Applicant Age: Applicant must be 18 years or older for most services.
- Citizenship: Applicant must be a citizen of Bangladesh and a resident of the area.
- Accurate Information: All applications must provide correct, complete, and truthful information.
- Required Documents: Each service requires submission of specified documents.
Important: Providing false information will result in application rejection and possible legal action.
2. Birth Registration Service
- Time Limit: Registration within 45 days of birth is free of charge.
- Required Information: Child's name, birth date, parents' names and national ID numbers.
- Supporting Documents: Hospital birth certificate (if available), parents' national ID cards.
3. Citizen Certificate
- Eligibility: Citizen of Bangladesh residing in the area for at least 6 months.
- Age: Minimum 18 years.
- Required Documents: National ID card, two local citizens' testimonies.
Validity: Citizen certificates are typically valid for 6 months to 1 year.
4. Holding Tax Service
- Tax Payment: Holding tax must be paid by June 30 each year.
- New Holding: New buildings must be registered within 30 days of construction.
- Ownership Transfer: Property ownership changes must be reported within 30 days.
5. Trade License
- Eligibility: Business owner must be at least 18 years old.
- Required Documents: National ID card, business address proof.
- Renewal: Annual renewal required by June 30.
Warning: Operating a business without a license is a punishable offense.
6. Marriage Registration
- Age: Groom must be 21 years, bride must be 18 years.
- Consent: Both parties must give free and voluntary consent.
- Witnesses: Two adult witnesses must be present.
- Time Limit: Registration within 30 days of marriage.
7. Social Security Services
a. Old Age Allowance
- Minimum age 65 years.
- Family annual income below prescribed limit.
b. Widow Allowance
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Has not remarried after husband's death.
c. Disability Allowance
- Disability certificate from government hospital.
- Age between 6 to 65 years.
Application Period: January-February each year.
8. Certificates and Attestation
- Character Certificate: Testimony from two local citizens required.
- Income Certificate: Income proof must be submitted.
- Heirship Certificate: List of all heirs and their consent required.
9. Complaint Redressal
- Filing Complaint: Written complaint, online form, or directly to Chairman/Secretary.
- Resolution Time: Simple complaints within 15 days, complex within 30 days.
- Appeal: Appeal to Upazila Executive Officer if dissatisfied.
